Sun Dappled Designs began in 2007 as an upstart of The Thyme Garden Herb Company. While growing up on an organic herb farm I developed a love for the uniqueness of herbs and flowers, of how their form attracts certain insects or their foliage is shaped in such a way to collect water or utilize some other valuable nutrient. I also enjoy the cultural and historical significance of flowers and herbs, such as borage being used for courage, heartsease violet to soothe an aching heart, or rosemary for remembrance (see the Flower and Plant Symbolisms page for more flower symbolisms.) I encourage clients to think of the significance of certain flowers in their lives when choosing a floral scheme.I have a strong commitment to using only the most organically grown flowers. I grow a nearly all of the flowers used in my arrangement either at my home in Corvallis or on location at The Thyme Garden Herb Company, who have been very wonderful in allowing me to use a portion of their property for this purpose. Because I am committed to using only fresh, local in season flowers, I am unable to provide certain flowers at certain times of the year, but I am always excited to find substitutes for you that have been sustainably grown in this area. In this way, you not only get a beautiful product, but you incorporate respect and love for our environment into your celebration. I believe that the products you choose on your wedding don't have to reflect only your budget. They can also be a reflection of your values as a human being who chooses to walk lightly on the earth.
